Launch your repo on Zcash.

Put ZEC on your repo's issues. When the reviewer you name accepts a pull request, mane sends the reward to the contributor's shielded address.

Bounty funds wait in mane's shielded escrow until the reviewer accepts. During the beta, bounties are capped at 1 ZEC.

Open bounties

The largest rewards open right now. Each one names the reviewer who decides.

How a bounty gets paid

For maintainers

  1. 1Add your repo and commit the one-line .mane/verify file mane gives you to the default branch.
  2. 2Pick an issue, set the reward in ZEC, write the terms and name the reviewer by their GitHub login.
  3. 3Send the exact amount shown to mane's escrow address with its memo. To accept the work later, merge the pull request and comment /mane accept on it.

For contributors

  1. 1Pick an open bounty. The reward, the terms and the reviewer are on it before you start.
  2. 2Open a pull request, link it on the bounty page while it is open, and post the claim code on the PR.
  3. 3When the reviewer merges it and comments /mane accept, mane sends the reward to your shielded address.

Questions

How do I prove a repo is mine?

Commit a file named .mane/verify, containing the code mane gives you, to the default branch. Anyone who can push to the repo can do that, so mane treats them as its maintainer.

Where is the ZEC while a bounty is open?

In one shielded wallet that mane controls, until the reviewer accepts a pull request or you cancel the bounty. During the beta each bounty is capped at 1 ZEC and mane pays out at most 2 ZEC a day.

When is the work accepted?

When the reviewer named on the bounty has merged the pull request and commented /mane accept on it. A merge alone pays nothing. The pull request must have been linked here while it was open, and its author must have posted the claim code on it, so nobody can claim someone else's work.

Can I get my ZEC back?

Yes, while no contributor has a proven claim. Cancel the bounty from its page, in the browser that holds the repo key, and mane refunds it to a shielded address, less a 0.0002 ZEC reserve for the network fee.

Can I launch a project token?

Not yet. Tokens on Zcash need shielded assets, which are not on mainnet. Bounties pay in ZEC until they are.

What is public?

The issue, the pull request, the reward and the reviewer's decision, like anything on GitHub. The payout address is never shown, and the payment itself is shielded.
